Our #meshspotting social media campaign highlights the versatility and adaptability of expanded metal mesh. Over the last few months, we’ve been highlighting its many fantastic properties and capabilities and we’ve been revealing where and how it is used all over the world.
Here’s a round-up of the best selection of March’s submissions – please note that these were taken and submitted before the current lockdown measures came into place.

It takes a dedicated mesh spotter to take a mesh snap while on their way up the slopes… but our MD, Philip Astley, clearly had his eyes peeled!
No. 13 Group Fighter Command HQ bunker, Newcastle upon Tyne
Expanded metal security mesh has been used to help secure and preserve this World War II era bunker at Kenton Bar in Newcastle! No. 13 Group Fighter Command HQ served as part of the air-defence system during World War II and played a key role throughout the Battle of Britain. Starbucks, Horsforth, Leeds
If you have ever visited the Starbucks café in Horsforth, you may have noticed this use of expanded metal. Metal mesh is often used in the hospitality sector for interior fit-out and there is more information on its capabilities here.

Lighting feature, Sheffield University
Expanded metal mesh has been used at Sheffield University’s Coffee Revolution space to create this striking feature, combining design innovation with practicality. Here’s some more info on how expanded metal can be used in restaurant, bar and café interiors.
