Images of expanded metal in use all around the globe have been sent to us since we started our #meshspotting campaign: they’ve illustrated how this versatile material can be used in multiple industries and environments.
Expanded metal mesh products are used in numerous applications in sectors including construction, filtration, automotive, aerospace, architecture, agriculture, acoustics, manufacturing, engineering, and security.
We have seen expanded metal mesh products used in everything from Hollywood film sets to ‘Grand Designs’ houses, iconic shopping centres and even sculptures.
And we’re proud to be celebrating and championing this expanded metal through the #meshspotting campaign.
For those new to the #meshspotting campaign, every quarter we pick what we believe to be the best picks from three categories:
- Most creative application spotted
- Best photo (composition)
- Furthest away from Hartlepool (our HQ and the original home of expanded metal manufacturing!)
And here are the first set of winners:
Best Photo: Paul Bushnell
Paul contributed this image of the Oliver Bonas store in Bloomsbury, London. The use of expanded metal on this staircase really enhances the feeling of space in the shop while adding aesthetic appeal.
Most Creative Application Spotted: Jo Lloyd
This comes all the way from a goods market in Guatapé in Columbia, proof that expanded metal can be found all over the world!
Furthest away from Hartlepool: Glen Wright
Spotted at a temple in Bagan, Myanmar, Glen selflessly snapped this whilst on holiday – it’s located a grand total of 5270 miles away from Hartlepool!
All winners will receive an Amazon voucher.
