The Expanded Metal Company joins NEPIC
We’re delighted to announce that The Expanded Metal Company has joined the North East of England Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC).
NEPIC is a not-for-profit organisation that supports the needs and interests of the chemical processing industry in North East England.
It works with businesses across sectors including bioresources, renewables, fine and speciality chemicals, biotechnology, polymers, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals and engineering.
In North East England, there are more than 1,400 companies directly involved or in the supply chain of these industries, generating £26 billion of annual sales. Together they employ 190,000 people and the sector exports £12 billion each year.
NEPIC runs a range of special interest groups, including Teesside Integrated Manufacturers, Supply Chain & SME Development, Best Practice & Innovation, Clean Growth, Communications & Engagement and Future Leaders.
The organisation also hosts an annual Meet The Members conference and exhibition – which this year takes place on June 22 at Wynyard Hall – plus regular Cluster Connect networking events, partner events and an annual awards ceremony.
Ian Hutchinson, commercial manager of The Expanded Metal Company, said: “NEPIC has its roots in Teesside’s chemical industry heritage and has long supported the development of the process industry in the North East, helping businesses to collaborate, grow and succeed.
“As a long-standing supplier into the global process industry, we’re delighted to now be part of NEPIC and will be playing an active role in the organisation.
“Meshes from The Expanded Metal Company’s product range are used in multiple applications across NEPIC’s focus sectors, from filtration and ventilation to hi-tech components, security measures and access solutions, such as high grip walkways, stairs and gantries.
“We also offer corrosion-resistant solutions and mesh foils which can be used in explosion suppression.
“We’re really looking forward to working with the NEPIC team and fellow members.”
